Virtually everyone wants to look better in their swimsuit, but most aren’t aware of one of the top beach body killers: sugar!
Researches have proven that sugar is a main contributor to weight gain and a soft or bulging waistline. Wonder how? It’s simple! Sugar is made up of two molecules: glucose and fructose. Glucose is your buddy! It’s what the body uses for energy. Fructose, on the other hand, is your nemesis! Fructose is a molecule that your liver turns to fat and is a key contributor to weight gain and disease.
Why It Matters
When you consume sugar, it causes your blood glucose to rise. This can be toxic, so your body produced insulin to get the glucose out of your body and into he cells to be used for energy. Over time, your body can build a resistance to insulin, which means that your pancreas is going to have to work harder and harder to create the same balance in the body. When the resistance to insulin reached a critical point, it can result in type II diabetes. But long before that happens, your body begins storing an overabundance of fat in your fat cells. What’s worse? Not only do you start putting on weight, but your body has a touch tine getting energy out of the fat cells, which means your brain thinks you’re hungry, which causes you to eat even more and the cycle goes round and round and round while you get rounder and rounder and rounder.
